Vanilla scent notes

Vanilla is the warm, sweet center of most gourmand blends. It reads as soft cream with a hint of caramel, and it lasts. Vanilla evaporates slowly, which is why it sits in the base of almost every blend that carries it.

Makers use it to round off sharp citrus, soften spice and give florals a skin-warm finish. Vanillin can turn soap and candle wax tan to brown as it cures, so check the vanillin figure in each product's details and test a small batch before you pour a white bar.
