Sweet scent notes

Sugary and comforting; enhances gourmand tones.

Sweet is the sugary impression under gourmand and fruit blends: spun sugar, syrup, candied fruit. Vanillin and ethyl maltol do most of the work, along with sweet resins like benzoin.

Sweet notes can sit anywhere in a blend, and they lean naturally on maple, caramel and almond. They round off sharp edges and make fruit smell riper. Watch the color: vanillin and its relatives can tint soap and light wax over time.
