Violet scent notes

Violet flowers give almost no oil, so the familiar powdery, candy-sweet violet scent comes from ionones, molecules that also appear in orris root. Violet leaf is a different material entirely: green, cucumber-like and sharp.

Violet sits in the heart of a blend. It adds a soft, powdery sweetness to florals and makes woods feel gentler. Violet with sandalwood is a classic, quiet combination.
