  1. Combine the citric acid, baking soda, sweet almond oil, and essential oils in a bowl and mix well using gloved hands.
  2. Spritz a small amount of witch hazel onto the top of the powder mixture and stir it in. Repeat this process until the mixture packs together easily with a similar texture to wet sand.
  3. Scoop the mixture into each mold one at a time and pack them down tightly. Allow them to dry for at least 24 hours. 
  4. Store them in an airtight container. Optional: Use ribbons, labels, cellophane wrap, etc. to add a special touch before giving them as a gift.

 

Snowy Woods Candle

Winter weather can mean lots of time spent cozied up indoors. This fresh woodsy candle can help to bring the outdoors in for the holidays.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix the essential oils in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Add soy wax to a double boiler and heat until fully melted, stirring will help speed the process. 
  3. Turn off heat at 185°F, and add the essential oil mixture. Stir for 2 minutes, and remove from heat. (Do not add essential oils until wax temperature is 185°F or lower.)
  4. Adhere the metal end of the wick to the bottom of your container using a wick tab sticker, super glue, or hot glue (in a pinch you can use your wax, but it’s not recommended). Press the end in the center of the bottom of the container.
  5. Straighten the wick and secure it at the mouth of the container with a clothespin resting on the top.
  6. Once the wax cools to 135°F, slowly pour the wax into the container.
  7. Let the candle sit for 24 hours, until fully set. Once set, remove the clothespin and trim the wick to 1/2 inch above the surface of the wax.

Deep Sleep Linen Spray

Directions
  1. Combine coconut oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax in a glass bowl over a smaller pot or saucepan with 1 inch or so of water in it (a double boiler can be used as well).
  2. Bring the water to a boil, stirring ingredients continuously until they are melted and combined.
  3. Remove the mixture from heat, and let it cool for 2 minutes
  4. Add essential oils and then gently stir until they are completely integrated.
  5. Carefully pour the mixture into mold(s).
  6. Gently tap the mold on your work surface to release any air bubbles.
  7. Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before removing them from mold.

  2. Remove the bowl from heat and stir, allowing it to cool for a moment. Add essential oils and stir again.
  3. Pour the liquid into an airtight container. Small metal tins are a great choice for easy travel or as a gift.

“Candy Cane” Blend
10 drops of Peppermint essential oil
5 drops of Cinnamon Cassia essential oil
5 drops of Sweet Orange essential oil

Directions

Wrap your twine or ribbon around the neck of your jar several times and finish by tying it in a bow. (Reuse an old mason jar or jam jar for a rustic touch). Arrange everything in a gift box or basket and include a note or card with instructions on how to use.
To Use
  1. Fill the jar about half way up with a diffuser base and add your essential oil blend. Stir them together until combined.
  2. Snip the sharp ends off of the bamboo skewers and place them in the jar. After an hour of them absorbing the oils, flip them over.

    Directions

    1. Heat cocoa butter and jojoba oil on a double boiler until the cocoa butter is completely melted, and the cocoa butter and jojoba oil have combined.
    2. Remove the combination from heat and stir in lavender essential oil.
    3. Place a small number of dried lavender buds into each cavity of your silicone mold.
    4. Pour the melted butter and oil mixture into each mold. Allow it to harden at room temperature for a few hours or in the refrigerator for thirty minutes to one hour.

    To Use

    Place one bath melt under warm running water. Adding the bath melt while your bath is filling up will allow the oils to disperse more evenly throughout the bath water. Your tub may be slippery. Use caution while getting in and out of the tub.

    • Air Dry Clay
    • Small Cookie Cutter (the size and shape you want your pendant to be)
    • Straw 
    • Jewelry Cording
    • Wax Paper
    • 10ml Bottle of your loved one’s favorite essential oil or blend
    • Optional skewer or rubber stamp

    Directions

    1. On a surface covered with wax paper, roll out your clay until it is about 1/4 inch thick.
    2. Press the cookie cutter into the clay to create your pendant shape. Use the straw to create a hole at the top of the pendant shape for the cording.
    3. Use a rubber stamp to imprint a design if desired or a skewer to gently carve a more simple design.
    4. Allow the pendant to dry overnight.
    5. Cut the desired length of cording and string through the hole in the pendant. Tie a knot to secure.
    6. Gift wrap the necklace along with the bottle of essential oil and include a card explaining how to use it. 

    To Use

    Place 3-5 drops of essential oil on the pendent and allow it to dry. Reapply as needed.
