Essential Oils for Introverts & Extroverts

Essential Oils for Introverts & Extroverts

Everyone finds energy and fulfillment in different kinds of activities, in different settings, and with different company.  Some of us may feel invigorated by a crowded party with tons of conversation while others may find more fun in a quiet night at home with a book or movie.  Extroverts are those of us who enjoy socialization and time spent with large groups.  Introverts are those who prefer time alone or with a more select, small group of others.  We can figure out which of these groups we identify with by examining how we choose to spend our free time.  Introverts may prefer to decompress after a long work week by relaxing at home or going on a solo hike in the forest.  Extroverts on the other hand may celebrate the weekend by planning dinner with friends or going out for a night of karaoke.  Some of us may even identify with both personality types depending on our mood and the situation.  Whether we are an introvert or an extrovert, or somewhere in between, essential oils can help us to maintain balance and joy in our everyday life.  Here are a few of our favorite essential oils for each personality type.    Introverts Cedarwood Essential Oil may help introverts to keep a calm and focused mind when they have to deal with overwhelming social situations.  It has been found to ease feelings of stress and boost brain activity to improve concentration and decision-making.  Cedarwood is also known to ground the spirit and when used in tandem with yoga or meditation to help introverts relax and realign themselves.  Lavender Essential Oil may help introverts reach a state of total relaxation to make the most of quiet moments spent alone.  It is believed to combat stress and anxiety to help bring emotions into balance and induce a tranquil state of mind.  Lavender has also been found to enhance the mood and improve sleep quality so introverts can wake up feeling uplifted and energized in the morning.  Frankincense Essential Oil may help to give introverts a cognitive boost to work through the mental labor of social situations.  It has been found to improve concentration and memory retention while also working to ease feelings of stress and worry.  Frankincense is known to strengthen intuition and focus intention to help introverts trust themselves when they may feel unsure of how to tackle a conversation or interaction.   Clary Sage Essential Oil may help introverts to maintain mental stamina to make the most of time spent doing hobbies and projects at home.  It is believed to improve concentration and awareness while working to combat negative moods and uplift the spirit.  Clary Sage has also been found to boost self-esteem and enhance feelings of creativity to increase the joy found in an introvert's favorite solitary activities.  Chamomile Essential Oil may help introverts to relax and drift off to sleep after a day filled with taxing social situations.  It has been found to encourage sleep onset and combat insomnia for a night of restful and rejuvenating sleep.  Chamomile is also known to soothe feelings of anxiety and calm the mind making it a great companion for meditation that introverts can use to help recenter their energy after a long day.  Extroverts Lemon Essential Oil may help to invigorate an extrovert's body and mind for a successful day of filling their social meter.  It is known to boost energy and uplift the mood while also enhancing concentration and cognitive functions.  Lemon is also believed to combat negative emotions and soothe feelings of frustration to help extroverts keep a positive outlook when social interactions become too divisive.   Vetiver Essential Oil may help to bring an energetic extrovert back down to earth after an eventful day.  It has been found to ground the mind and spirit to restore a tranquil state of mind, benefits that can amplify when paired with meditation and mindfulness practices.  Vetiver is also known to clear the mind and help Champagne & Roses Cold Process Soap

Champagne & Roses Cold Process Soap

Champagne and roses are beautiful symbols of celebration that we may see no matter how we like to honor our accomplishments.  Whether we’re lifting our glass to champagne toasts at a large gathering with floral centerpieces or sipping a glass of bubbly while enjoying a rose petal bath at home, the pair can help to make an occasion feel special.  Pink Champagne and Rose Petal Fragrance Oils combine to create a soft and sweet aroma with rich floral notes and bright fruity accents to remind us of the moments worth celebrating.  These fragrance oils can provide a distinctive and long-lasting scent for cold process soap.  A base of olive, palm, coconut, sweet almond, and castor oils come together to form a smooth and creamy bar of soap perfect for a simple and classy design.  Pearl mica helps to create swirls of shimmer and shine throughout the bar, reminiscent of a glass of tiny bubbles catching the light. Ingredients 19 oz of Olive Oil 14.5 oz of Palm Oil 13.5 oz of Coconut Oil 5.5 oz of Sweet Almond Oil 1.5 oz of Castor Oil 18 oz of Distilled Water 7.5 oz of Sodium Hydroxide Lye 2 oz of Pink Champagne Fragrance Oil 1.5 oz of Rose Petal Fragrance Oil 3 tbsp of Pearl Mica Supplies Heat-Safe Soap Loaf Mold Immersion Blender Digital Kitchen Scale Small Bowl for Essential Oils Medium Glass Bowl for Lye Mixture Large Glass or Stainless Steel Bowl for Base Oils Pot or Double Boiler Spoon or Rubber Spatula Gloves Safety Glasses or Goggles   Instructions ***Make sure to wear safety glasses or goggles, gloves, and long-sleeve clothing.  Working with lye and high temperatures requires caution and safe practices.  Always make soap in a well-ventilated area. Measure and combine the fragrance oils and set them aside. Weigh each oil and add them to a large bowl.  Place the bowl on top of a large pot that is about 1/3 full of water and bring the water to a boil.  Heat the oil until fully melted, stirring occasionally. While the oil is melting, weigh out the lye and water in two separate bowls.  Slowly add the lye to the water while gently stirring until the lye is fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Let the oils and lye mixture both cool to 130 degrees or below, ensuring that they are within 10 degrees of each other. Place the immersion blender into the oil, tapping it on the bottom of the bowl to release any air bubbles.  This is a safety precaution that prevents the bubbles from coming to the surface when you begin mixing in the lye. Slowly and gently pour the lye water into the oil mixture.  You can pour down the side of the bowl or down the shaft of the immersion blender to reduce the chance of splashing. Pulse the blender a few times, watching as the oils and lye start to combine.  Switch between short pulses and stirring with the blender until the mixture comes together to a light trace.   Add colorant, a few drops at a time, until the desired color is achieved. Working quickly, stir (do not blend) in the fragrance oil blend.  Add the pearl mica and quickly stir a few times to create swirls of sparkle. Once the soap reaches about a medium trace, quickly pour the soap mixture into the mold, scraping the bowl to ensure no soap is left behind.  Tap the mold on the table or counter to release any trapped air bubbles. Allow the soap to sit in the mold for 48-72 hours at room temperature.  Unmold the soap, cut it into the desired bar size and allow it to cure for 4-6 weeks. Use and enjoy.   You may also enjoy...
