Herbal scent notes

Herbal notes smell like a kitchen garden in summer: rosemary, basil, sage, thyme and clary sage. They are aromatic rather than sweet, with a cool, slightly camphorous side that sits close to lavender.

Herbal notes can sit anywhere in a blend but usually work in the heart, beside lavender, citrus and evergreen notes. They give spa blends and barbershop-style scents their crisp structure. Use them where a blend needs clarity rather than sweetness.
