Winter brings holiday travel and more time outdoors in the cold and wind than skin is always ready for, and dryness often follows. This smooth whipped body butter is made to moisturize. Fractionated coconut oil and sweet almond oil absorb easily into the skin. Shea butter and cocoa butter also hydrate, and form a barrier on the skin that keeps moisture in. Amber Glow Fragrance Oil and Sandalwood Vanilla Fragrance Oil combine in a warm, velvety aroma. The recipe makes multiple jars, enough to keep some on hand and give the rest as gifts.
Ingredients
- 4 oz of Cocoa Butter Natural Wafers
- 4 oz of Unrefined Shea Butter
- 4 oz of Sweet Almond Oil
- 2 oz of Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 5 mL of Amber Glow Fragrance Oil
- 5 mL of Sandalwood Vanilla Fragrance Oil
Instructions
- Add the cocoa butter and shea butter to a heat-safe bowl and place it on top of a pot with a few inches of water in it. Bring the water to a boil and stir the butters until fully melted.
- Remove from heat and thoroughly mix in the sweet almond oil, fractionated coconut oil and fragrance oils.
- Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes, or until the mixture begins to firm but is not completely hardened.
- Once chilled, use a hand mixer to whip it to a fluffy consistency. If the mixture is too soft or isn't whipping, place it back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and whip again.
- Scoop into airtight jars and give them as gifts to friends and family.
To use, apply all over the body and gently smooth into dry skin.
