Recipe Note
Storage and Use
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the jar dry between uses to maintain freshness.
To use: Scoop a small amount with dry hands before stepping into the shower or bath. Add water and massage gently onto skin in circular motions. Avoid sensitive or broken skin. Rinse thoroughly.
Troubleshooting: Scrub setting too firm
The finished scrub will be semi-firm rather than soft and creamy. This is normal. The melt and pour base hardens as it cools, so if the mixture sets firmer than expected, here's how to rescue it:
> Place the scrub back into a microwave-safe container and heat in 10 to 15 second bursts, stirring between each, until softened.
> Once softened, add more liquid oil a little at a time. Start with 1 oz of jojoba oil (sweet almond or sunflower also work).
> Stir thoroughly and allow to cool. If still too firm, add another 0.5 to 1 oz of oil.
> If it becomes too oily, stir in a small amount of sugar, about 1 tsp at a time, until the texture balances out.
> Do not pack tightly into jars. Alternatively, pour the softened scrub into individual silicone molds for single-use portions.
A Note on Fragrance
This recipe uses 0.5 oz of fragrance oil in a rinse-off scrub. Before selecting your fragrance, check the IFRA usage guidelines for rinse-off bath and body products to confirm your chosen oil is within the recommended rate for skin-safe use. Make It Yours
The goat milk base gives this scrub a creamy, custard-toned finish that looks as good in a jar as it feels on skin. Swap white sugar for raw cane sugar for a coarser texture, or fine sugar if you prefer something gentler. Try a citrus fragrance for a bright morning scrub, something warm and vanilla-forward for gifting, or a fresh floral for a spa-at-home feel.
