Ylang Ylang scent notes

Creamy floral with a fruity, lightly spiced sweetness.

Ylang ylang is distilled from the yellow flowers of Cananga odorata, grown in the Comoros and Madagascar. It smells creamy, fruity and floral, with a banana-like sweetness and a touch of spice.

The oil is collected in fractions as distillation goes on. Extra comes first and is the most floral; grades I, II and III follow, each heavier and longer lasting. In a blend ylang ylang sits in the heart and the base, and lavender is its natural partner.
