Study Explores Essential Oils for Brain Health

High-quality essential oils from The Essential Oil company were recently used to research the effects of daily diffusion on cognitive abilities in older people. The study titled “Overnight olfactory enrichment using an odorant diffuser improves memory and modifies the uncinate fasciculus in older adults” set out to explore if essential oils could be used as an inexpensive, simple, and effective in-home treatment for cognitive loss in older adults.

Individuals in the study were provided with Rose, Orange, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Lavender essential oils and a home diffuser to use each night. These oils are known to have beneficial properties that may help to support healthy brain function.
