10 Essential Oil for the Holiday Season

10 Essential Oil for the Holiday Season

The holidays are a wonderful and celebratory time of the year that gives us all something to look forward to amid the cold winter season. This year may be especially joyous as many of us connect with family and friends that we have been away from for much longer than usual. With so much to do and so much going on during the holidays, an increase in stress is hard to avoid. That combined with the effects of chilly winter weather can make it difficult to stay in the cheerful holiday spirit. Essential oils used both topically and through aromatherapy, are great tools to help get us through this holiday season. They can help to soothe tension, combat seasonal illness, and keep us in an uplifted mood. Many essential oils also have aromas that are strongly associated with the holiday season and can evoke strong feelings of nostalgia and warmth, making them great for helping to bring our families together and getting everyone into the spirit of celebration.

Here are some of our favorite essential oils for the holiday season

Lavender essential oil is well known for its calming and soothing properties, which can be especially valuable to us when dealing with holiday stress. It helps to soothe anxiety and create a calm atmosphere for holiday gatherings. It can also improve sleep quality so we have the energy to tackle busy days.

Rosemary essential oil can help reduce stress levels and increase mental activity, giving us the boost we need to get through any holiday family gathering. It can also help facilitate healthy digestion and relieve stomach discomfort when we indulge a little too much at holiday meals.

Ginger essential oil can help to revitalize our bodies and minds when all the excitement of the season starts to get to us. It helps to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety while also enhancing concentration. It can also help break up congestions and reduce other cold and flu symptoms.

Sweet Orange essential oil can help to keep us feeling healthy and uplifted and all holiday season long. It works to inspire a positive mood and quell negative feelings while also soothing stress and anxiety and stimulating the immune system when we need it most.

Clove Bud essential oil’s uniquely warm and spicy aroma is present in many of our favorite holiday baked goods and can also help us recover from a night of indulgent celebration. It helps to ease tooth pain after too many festive sweets while also invigorating and stimulating the mind when we may feel sluggish.

Peppermint essential oil can help to keep us healthy during the winter holiday season. It is beneficial for reducing pain from headaches, muscle aches, and inflammation that can be exacerbated by the cold weather. It also boosts energy and helps to relieve congestion when those pesky winter colds catch up to us.

Cinnamon essential oil is a signature scent of the holiday season that can also help to combat some of the cold weather effects on our bodies. It works to improve circulation to help revive dull, pale skin as well as soothe stiff joints and ease muscle pain. Cinnamon also works to soothe nervous tension and improve memory to help us make the most of fun activities with family.

Pirates Blend can function as our go-to tool to help defend against illness and germs during the busy holiday season. Clove Bud, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lavender, and Cedarwood essential oils help to combat bacteria in the air while also supporting the immune system and respiratory health.

Holiday Blend is so perfect for this time of year that it is right there in the name. Clove, Ginger, Cinnamon Bark, Blood Orange, Geranium, and Peppermint essential oil combine to create a warm and spirit-lifting blend. It creates comforting and joyous feelings to help us enjoy the winter holiday bliss.

Nutcracker Blend is a great choice for evoking those warm, familiar scents of the holiday season. Coriander Seed, Nutmeg, Patchouli, and Pine Needle combine to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere while encouraging feelings of nostalgia and warm serenity.
